# BPM Maturity

Framework for assessing and growing an organisation's ability to run BPM as a sustainable capability — based on the Rosemann & vom Brocke **six success factors** ([[sources/2018-dumas-fundamentals-of-bpm]], ch. 12).

## Six success factors

1. **Strategic Alignment** — BPM goals linked to organisational strategy; process portfolio reflects strategic priorities.
2. **Governance** — clear decision rights, roles (process owner, process analyst, architect), escalation paths.
3. **Methods** — the toolkit of discovery / analysis / redesign / monitoring techniques.
4. **Information Technology** — BPMS, modelling tools, process mining platforms.
5. **People** — skills, education, capabilities.
6. **Culture** — values and beliefs supporting BPM (receptiveness to process thinking, tolerance for change).

## Barriers to success (§12.1)
- Lack of executive sponsorship.
- Poorly defined problem scope.
- Mismatch between BPM initiative and organisational culture.
- Insufficient methodological rigour.
